If you need to refresh your memory, watch the video again, if not, go straight to the comments section and write three things you learned in complete sentences.

A comment might look like this. You may not use these in your comment!:

The legislative branch is responsible for making the laws.

The executive branch is the President and cabinet.

The Judicial branch are all the courts.

Notice the complete sentences.

  1. I learned that there are three branches of government, the cabinet are just advisors of the president and that the supreme court can say that a law is unconstitutional and basically veto it.

  2. The President does not have all the power. It depends on the population of how many people go into the House of Legislative. Only 2 people per state go to the Senate.

  3. The Judicial Branch has the ability after the veto is overruled, to decide whether or not it is fair. The Executive Branch (the president) has the ability to veto the laws and make it so the law will not happen. The Legislative Branch has the ability if at least 80% (correct me if I’m wrong) vote to have the veto overruled, it will be.

  4. I learned that the Judicial Branch has a lot of power but not enough to take over. I also learned that the president does not have all the power either I thought he would but I guess not√. last but not least I learned that legislative don’t either.

  5. The Executive Branch is basically the president, vice president, and the cabinets. The Judicial Branch is the supreme court so they technically just help make the laws. The Legislative Branch is separated between the senate and house of representatives.

  6. 1. I learned that one of the president’s jobs is a commander-in-chief of the military.
    2. The president works with cabinet members to make decisions.
    3. The most time the president can serve is 2 4 terms also known as 8 years.

  7. I learned:
1.The house of representatives has at least 2 representatives from each state but some states might have more than 2 representatives if the states population is greater.
2.The president has advisors called cabinet members.
3.The Judicial branch refers to the U.S. constitution in court.

  8. I have learned that the legislative branch, the Executive branch, and the Judicial branch all have equal power.

  9. The Government of The United States of America is made out of three branches.
The Executive Branch, The Legislative Branch, and The Judicial Branch.
The Executive Branch is made out of the President and his cabinet members. The cabinet members are intellectuals chosen by the president to advise him about Foreign Policy, Agriculture, International Relations, Education and other subjects. The Legislative Branch is made out of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Representatives are elected to represent each state. The higher the state population, the more the representatives. The Judicial Branch is made out of the Supreme Court. The Supreme court is made out 9 justices who are chosen by the president and serve for life. The Supreme Court is higher than any court in the country. There are also state supreme courts that are higher than any court in their respective state. The justices can be impeached by congress. (That means that if congress does not think that they are fit to serve as justices they can be kicked out. This can also happen to the president).

    • If our state is a so-called “democracy”, then how come right-wing conservatives have illegally redrawn voting districts 1 and 11 with squiggly lines along the black neighborhoods so that there are less African-American state congressmen/woman? That is deliberate racism from our county representatives!

      • It’s also a violation of our universal right to vote with the exception of convicted felons to have to present identification to vote. That is a blatant law and it is unconstitutional.

  10. I learned
    1. That the 3 branches of government have equal “power” so none of they 3 are like the king

  11. The first thing I learned is that there are three branches of the government: The legislative branch, the executive branch, and the judicial branch. The second thing I learned is that the president works in the executive branch. The third thing I learned is that the presidents helpers are called cabinet members.

  12. Here are my three comments…
-The president can reject (veto) bills and send them back to the legislative branch (congress).
-The congress can override the president’s veto, make changes, and send it back to him (maybe her this year!).
-The constitution decides that all branches should have the same amount of power, so that’s the way it is.

  13. 1. There is three branches: legislative, judicial and executive
    2. The legislative building is made out of the U.S house of representatives and the U.S senate
    3. The senate have 2 from each state come

  14. 1. If the president vetos a law the other branches can fight back and say no that law is a great law which would over come the president.
    2. I also learned that the house of representatives brings congressmen from each state but if the state has a bigger population the state will bring more congressmen.
3.I also learned that the judicial branch makes sure that the laws agree with the U.S constitution.

  15. Legislative branch has congress and the house of representatives and the US senate.

Executive branch is where the president signs laws and other things.

Judicial Is the court but the supreme court is at the top and rules the smaller court.

The ones of these in DC are the world laws so if you make a law there it’s a law for the US but if you do it for your state it’s a law for your state.
