  1. I really like that Ruby didn’t get mad or fight back at the angry mob, but she prayed for them. She did what she was told and it helped her. For example when her mom and the people how escorting her to school told her not to look or listen to the mob she didn’t. I think that going to a wight school and handling the mob was the right job for her because a lot of other kids probably couldn’t handle that kind of stress and many if it wasn’t for her there might not be integrations in some schools.

  2. I feel bad for Ruby. I mean she aces this test because she is good enough, and then one day, U.S. Marshals show up to take her to this new school and she had no notice. It wasn’t her fault that somebody was threatning to poison her. Personally, I’m surprised that people didn’t throw things at her. I feel bad for her.

  3. I think that Ruby is a very self-controlled person because she did not get mad fight back. She is kind of like JR she did not fight back when she was yelled at. She is also very brave, cute and nice. She is just a very good person.

  4. I think it would be very scary to be her, and to do the things she has faced. I have a question, How would you feel if you had to do all of those bad things getting threaten to death and people spitting on you, people scream and yelling at you, wouldn’t you feel bad but good? I don’t know how somebody would stand that. Well thats my thoughts.

  5. I think that Ruby is very smart, and self-controlled because the whites that were yelling at her and threatening to poison her didn’t make her fight back. Even though she aced all the tests that she took, she is still treated like a piece of trash just thrown into a classroom with a new teacher. She was having a normal life and then one day the U.S. Marshals came to take her to school. I would be freaked out if I went through that. Ahhhh!

  6. I think that it would be really scary if I were her. I bet that it would be kind of hard moving schools but when you are moving to a school that is an only white school and everybody hates you then that might be very very very hard for her. This was a critical part of the civil rights movement. I probably would start to cry if I got screamed at and got called a bad word. I think that she was really brave. Also I feel like her family helped here a lot. Because her father lost his job because she was going to that school but he let here stay there. I think that here family was also a really critical part of the civil right movement.

  7. I think that if Ruby hadn’t kept going to that school, things could be like they were back then. Except things would be a little better, but not much. It took a lot of guts to do what she did. I am not sure I could do that. Knowing someone wanted to kill me, that would make anyone want to just go away. Integration seems like a scary thing. I think that if people were going to except others they should be opened minded.

  8. I really enjoyed watching this movie. I think it really demonstrated how much people did not want to integrate. For example, Ruby had to have a full police escort to guide her in to school while people jumped and hollered hurtful things at her. Also, the movie really showed how strong and brave Ruby had to be to resist the urge to fight back with violence. For instance, when Ruby walked in to school people threatened and yelled at her, but Ruby never resorted to violence.

  9. She was very brave, I probably would probably cry. She is very smart, one of the reasons she went to the white school is because Ruby Bridges had high grades. And this isn’t just about her Ruby’s family helped out too, her dad lost his job for sending her to a white school. Ruby is very self-controlled when people called her names and threatened to poison her she didn’t fight back let alone she was 6! The people outside the school didn’t get raised like that. They felt threatened to integrate schools so they decided to threaten another person so they won’t come to the school anymore. She is like Jackie Robinson, she couldn’t retaliate or do anything silly so the hatters could have another reason to try to cheat blacks out of having a fair education and many other thing like jobs and voting. That will eventually happen all of this is why Ruby Bridges isn’t the face of the Civil Rights movement but a part of the Civil Rights Movement.

  10. It was very brave what Ruby Bridges did, it’s hard to feel like you don’t belong even though it’s for a silly reason. It was probably even harder with the fact that she was only six. And because you did well on one test means that you have to support your whole race. Imagine doing well on a test and then suddenly being the start of integration in New Orleans schools. It was amazing how such a young kid persevered through lots of really tough things. Wow!

  11. I think she was probably real scared when people said they were going to kill her or poison her. She did a big thing that I don’t think I could do. I can’t believe her dad lost his job just for being the dad of Ruby and I don’t understand why he would get fired for that reason. Her teacher was the only nice lady in that school until the other teacher starting teaching Ruby.

  12. That would be terrifying if I were her. I would cry every day every time I walked in the school with somebody threatening to poison me, them saying”2,4,6,8 we don’t want to integrate” HORRIBLE! people were saying horrible things and she was very sad because people didn’t like her but in all that she and her family were doing the right thing. She deserved that education a lot she was very smart and the principal wanted her to have bad grades what a night mear.

  13. Ruby was very brave because all those people were yelling horrible things at her. Not only did she not fight back, she actually prayed for them. Ruby was a truly extraordinary girl and so were her parents because they care a lot about Ruby and it was very brave of them to send her to that school where those people were threatening to poison Ruby or even hang her. Ruby deserved a great education because she was really smart and people shouldn’t have judged her by the color of her skin. She was strong and she overcame those racist people to get the education she deserved.

  14. Ruby was a very brave girl to do what she did. She was espilly brave for a six year old to geet escorted by US marshells evry day. Other kids wouldn’t play with Ruby but that all changed because of a girl going to scchool. Thats why Ruby was brave!

  15. It’s kind of weird to ace all your tests, just to be treated like that! I also think not only was Ruby brave, but the other kids that left their moms and dads in the mob were very brave. I can’t believe how powerful and close to God (if your christian) you would have to be praying to people who where going to kill you. Add on that your only six. Also to have to deal with US Marshall as a six year old is mind blowing.

  16. The teacher would also have to be brave to work with Ruby. Imagine how many threats she would get too.
